Self-consciousness. Female hand stand yoga pose in beautiful beach setting.

As women, we often juggle a variety of roles and responsibilities throughout life – from careers to motherhood, and everything in between. In the midst of all this, it’s easy to neglect our own needs like self-care, being self-conscious and put ourselves last on our list of priorities.

However, there’s one thing that’s vital for our well-being, and that’s feeling and looking good. Not just sometimes, here and there but igniting a consciousness that redirects our thinking about the #1 priority of self-care necessity.

Feeling good about ourselves is not just about our physical appearance, it’s also about our mental and emotional well-being.

When we feel good about ourselves, we’re more likely to make positive changes in our lives and contribute to society in meaningful ways. In fact, studies have shown that when women feel good about themselves, they’re more likely to take care of their health, have better relationships, and even perform better at work.

On the other hand, looking good is not just about adhering to societal standards of beauty, it’s about taking care of ourselves and feeling confident in our own skin.

Societal standards of beauty refer to the cultural norms and expectations that shape what is considered attractive or desirable in terms of physical appearance which includes but not limited too, youthfulness and a particular body shape or size.

Every person has their own definition of what “looking and feeling good” means to them, and it’s important not to conform to societal standards of beauty, but rather to focus on self-care and what makes each individual feel confident and comfortable.

When we look good, we’re more likely to walk into a room with our heads held high and exude confidence. And as we all know, confidence is attractive, it makes people want to be around us, and it can open up doors to new opportunities.

Confidence is considered an important trait for personal, social and professional development.

On the other hand low self-esteem and low confidence are often negatively related. But looking and feeling good doesn’t have to be a chore, it can be something that we really enjoy doing. It could be as simple as taking a few minutes each day to put on makeup or styling our hair. It could be taking a walk outside and enjoying nature or taking a relaxing bath after a long day. It’s important to find what makes you feel good and make it a part of your daily routine.

Self-care is not a luxury, it’s a necessity. It helps us to be our best selves, both inside and out. When we take the time to look after ourselves, we’re better equipped to deal with life’s challenges and to make the most of its opportunities through the challenges.

In conclusion, looking and feeling good is important for women, not only for their self-esteem, but also for their well-being. It’s also to note that the same applies to Men. It’s not about adhering to societal standards, but about self-care.

Keep in mind societal standards are often perpetuated and reinforced by the media, advertising and popular culture and can have a negative impact on people’s self-esteem and body image, leading many people to feel pressured into conforming to these unrealistic ideals.

Self-care can include a variety of activities, such as exercise, healthy eating, getting enough sleep, and practicing good hygiene, surrounding yourself with positive people.  Additionally, it can include taking care of one’s mental health through activities such as meditation, therapy, or journaling. The most important thing is to find what works best for you and make it a regular part of your routine.
