Sugaring is an Ancient Egyptian and Indian method of hair removal. Sometimes called sugar waxing, sugaring is a gentle, effective and all-natural solution to unwanted hair. Sugar paste is made from just 3 ingredients (sugar, lemon juice and water) and contains no additives or resin
The sugaring treatment process is not pain-free, but it also depends on the individual’s level of pain tolerance. Our Sugarista’s are specifically trained to minimize as much pain by applying our technique: holding taut, and applying pressure.
Length of hair should be approximately 1/4″ or longer, which is about the size of a grain of rice. If you’ve been shaving, 2-3 weeks of growth is usually sufficient, but longer is fine, too. If you’ve been waxing or sugaring, you’ll want to wait 3-6 weeks in between your appointments without shaving.
Absolutely! The sugar paste has no additives or preservatives, which means no toxins, irritants or allergens. Body sugaring is a safe, effective and gentle professional treatment.
The day of your appointment skin should be clean and dry, no lotion or oil. You may take an anti-inflammatory/pain reliever of your choice, and caffeine should be avoided.
Sugaring paste grips the hair and helps lift dead surface skin cells. We remove it in the hair’s natural growth direction, which can help minimize breakage. Traditional waxing also adheres to the skin and is typically removed against hair growth, which can contribute to irritation and broken hairs. Both methods remove hair from the root, but the formula and technique make the difference.
Results typically last up to 3 1/2 weeks, depending on the treatment area and your hair growth cycle. Some hairs may appear sooner, especially after your first appointment, because not all hairs grow at the same time.
Keep your routine simple while your skin settles. For the first 24–48 hours, avoid excessive heat, strenuous exercise, swimming, friction, and fragranced products on the treated area. For intimate services, avoid sexual activity during this time to limit friction and irritation.
Wear loose clothing, cleanse gently, and avoid picking or scratching. Once tenderness and redness have resolved, resume gentle exfoliation and moisturizing as advised. Protect exposed areas from the sun, and follow the personalized instructions provided at your visit.
It may be suitable, but sensitive skin needs an individual assessment. A simple ingredient list does not mean a treatment is irritation-free. Tell us about allergies, eczema, recent reactions, and skincare products before your visit. We may recommend a small test area or postpone treatment if your skin is irritated, sunburned, or broken.
